San Chez Restaurants, Inc. consists of three operations, the original Tapas Bistro, San Chez Café, and a full service banquet and catering facility.
San Chez, a Tapas Bistro resides in a historic urban space, with high vaulted ceilings, large mosaic pillars and original works by Jose Narezo. Original tin ceilings and sandblasted brick add to the traditional feel. San Chez offers an upbeat Bistro style featuring an open kitchen that allows for an energetic, entertaining dining experience.
On the “other side” of San Chez Bistro, San Chez Café offers unique Moroccan-inspired cuisine, in a colorful, vibrant décor that transports guests to the land of the Casbah.
San Chez Catering is the third facet of our foodservice jewel, a fully functional banquet and catering operation. San Chez Catering is capable of meeting any party need, in or out of our restaurants. San Chez consistently receives awards for service and food from publications such as Grand Rapids Magazine and On the Town. Readers and publishers alike have consistently showered San Chez Bistro as “Best of” awards as well as for “Best Ethnic restaurant,” “Best restaurant downtown,” “Best atmosphere and ambiance,” and “Best appetizers.” San Chez Bistro has also been given two national awards, “One of the 50 best Hispanic restaurants in the U.S.A.” by Hispanic Magazine and “Best restaurant in Town & Best Spanish Restaurant” by Where the Locals Eat, Magellan Press.
San Chez Restaurants, Inc. donates more than $30,000 in food and gift certificates yearly through its community events, programs, and projects, including $5,000 in volunteer-hours and $10,000 in direct fundraising.
San Chez Restaurants, Inc. demonstrates its commitment to preserving the environment by recycling 45,000 pounds of plastic and metal materials and 468 yards of cardboard and paper yearly. In 2004, San Chez Restaurants, Inc. was a state winner for the National Restaurant Neighbor Award. This award was a component of the National Restaurant Association’s Cornerstone Initiative.
